​2020 DBMG Scholarship Awardees Announced

We're proud to announce the 13 DBMG Scholarship Awardees. This 2020 Awardees Class of African-American male recipients are from high schools in Contra Costa and Alameda Counties.

2020 DBMG Scholarship Awardees

• Langston Buddenhangen, Oakland Technical H.S. He will attend Stanford.
• Deshawn Carter, Hayward H.S. He will attend Howard University.
• Armond Hervey,Jr., California H.S. He will attend Grambling State University.
• Jason Hill, Jr., St. Mary's College H.S.. He will attend Sonoma State University.
• Jabari Jones, Pittsburg H.S.. He will attend AMDA College and Conservatory of the Performing Arts.
• Nicolas Mosely, Pittsburg H.S. He will attend Alabama State University.
• Cameron Muldrow, Castro Valley H.S. He will attend Arizona State University.
• Jeremy Samuel, St. Mary's College H.S. He was also selected as one of two 2020 Willie Archie Scholarship Award recipients. Angela Archie, the wife of Willie, awarded a scholarship for an additional $2500. Jeremey will attend Loyola University Maryland.
• Nigel Scott, Bentley Upper School. He will attend North Carolina A&T.
• Kumani Therman, Skyline H.S. He will attend Clark Atlanta University.
• Jordan Walton, St. Mary's College H.S.He will attend Chapman University.
• Justin Walton, Oakland School of the Arts. He was also selected as one of two 2020 Willie Archie Scholarship Award recipients. Angela Archie, the wife of Willie, awarded a scholarship for an additional $2500. Justin will attend Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music at New York University.
• Treyvon Wilson, Hayward H.S. He will attend Morehouse College.​

DBMG GoFundMe Scholarship Campaign

​Supporters and friends of DBMG, as a result of the COVID-19 Pandemic, we've been forced to cancel our major fundraising events to support our scholarship program. To compensate for these major fundraising shortfalls, DBMG has launched a GoFundMe site to raise the $35,000 we need to enable us to continue to provide scholarships to African-American high school graduates in 2021

How to Vote in California

​Many states have changed their voting rules and deadlines because of the coronavirus. Here’s how to cast your ballot, safely and on time. And remember, the dates listed below are the last possible opportunities to register and vote. If you can vote early, do. You’ll be doing your part to help the whole system run more smoothly.

1. Register - Deadline is Monday, Oct. 19. If you miss this date, you can register in person through November 3 - Election Day.  Register online.
2. Confirm - Make sure you've successfully registered to vote in this election. Check your your registration status.
3. Vote

• In-Person Voting - Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3. You do not need to bring ID (ID rules may vary for absentee ballots and first-time voters). Find your Polling Place.
• Vote-by-Mail/Absentee - You can vote by mail for any reason. Ballots should be automatically mailed to every voter starting in early October. If you've changed address - or lost, damaged or didn't receive your ballot - request a new one. Your completed ballot must be postmarked no later than Tuesday, November 3, and received no later than Friday, November 20. The U.S. Postal Service recommends mailing ballots at least a week before Election Day.  
• You can also hand deliver your Vote-by-Mail/Absentee ballot to drop-off locations or any polling place in your county no later than 8 p.m., Tuesday, November 3. After you vote, you may be notified if there is a problem with your ballot.You can track your ballot's status here. Apply for an Absentee Ballot.​
